WEEK 3 EOC: Profit Companies Giving Back

The company I chose to highlight in giving back is Coco Cola. They are outstanding in how they give back to their customers and people who support their brand. Coco Cola gave out scholarships to students who qualify for a scholarship to a college. The company decide to reach out to a group of young people to award the scholarships to them. The reaction from the students is amazing! Coco Cola supports that in this country you can become anything you want through hard work and dedication and that is what this scholarship supports. Education is a key to social mobility in the United States. Through hard work and dedication, you can become anything you want in this country. In the U.S., and around the world, the cost of higher education has been rising at alarming rates. As a result, financial obstacles often get in the way of educational opportunities that could otherwise enable students to pursue their aspirations. Coco Cola scholarship foundation has decided to award around 3.1 million dollars to students who are going to college. They reward these scholarships to students who are forward thinkers and people who they think are leaders of tomorrow. The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation has helped over 5,550 outstanding high school students since their establishment in 1986, as a way for Coca-Cola Bottlers to give back to their local communities. The Foundation was established to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Coca−Cola and to establish a legacy for the education of tomorrow’s leaders through college scholarships. Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

PlayStation 4 in my opinion is a big cash cow all together, however in respect to the article “PLAYSTATION NOW – Is this yet another cash cow for Sony to milk?” “PlayStation Now” is one of the lead reasons why PlayStation 4 dominates the market. The sales success of these consoles also have to do with the titles that they release hence still giving credit to the software side of the business. It turns out that more people purchase PS4 for its titles on the console, as opposed to the Xbox One less people purchase because the titles they aren’t interesting.

Xbox one is the dog of the gaming console industry. More people have purchased PlayStation 4 because of its features as opposed to the Xbox one. However according to the article “PLAYSTATION NOW – Is this yet another cash cow for Sony to milk?”, Playstation is dominating the market due to the online experience .However, accessory sales were up 14 percent, enough to somewhat offset the decline across video game sales to just 5 percent when looking at sales of software, hardware and accessories together.

The Nintendo Wii and respect to the PlayStation four and Xbox one has not had good sales in the wow. I don't think that we even exist anymore. Thinking up gaming consoles the market is dominated back Xbox one and PlayStation. How ever PlayStation four is still the Cashcow of the industry. I think the Nintendo in ex will help Nintendo's market share increase and at least catch up to the competitors.

Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Service

"What is marketing? Simply put, marketing is managing profitable customer relationships (Marketing: An Introduction, pg.2)” My customer experience happened when I brought my Tobias Bass guitar from American Music Supply. Being in the market for a new bass guitar I was in talks with a good friend from my church back home in Richmond, Virginia. In a conversation I told him that I needed a nice bass guitar for a reasonable price. As I didn’t have that much money to spend on an expensive bass, and to be honest I’m still learning how to play professionally so I didn’t need anything to extravagant. So he says, “Check out American Musical Supply, you can pay a deposit on whatever instrument you choose and have it shipped out to you once the deposit is made. So I’m like "ok cool sounds like a winner!" He went on to say that they would later take it out of your account monthly which worked perfectly for me because of the way I get paid and planned to save up for the purchase anyway.

So I looked into this later when I got a chance. As I browsed the website I noticed that they had everything I could possibly want in terms of music supply! My biggest fear was going to this website and they had low quality gear or just didn’t carry anything good. Not only that but when you find the instrument you like they have very detailed specs, a 360 view of the desired gear, pictures, and in some cases even a demonstration video. So after checking out my new bass I figured I would call just to get the just of how everything works. I called the customer service line and the automated system was straight to the point, no funny options to trap you into doing business with the computer operator or anything of that nature. When I got in touch with the operator they were nice offered me very valuable information about the instrument. After I purchased the bass guitar and it came to my address I was excited! It was brand new, and the payment structure worked fine!

So anytime I need an instrument I tend to go back to American Music Supply because of the service and available options. On top of this I also recommend this site to all my musician friends.

Week 1 EOC: My Voice

Hi! My name is Herbert Peters Jr., but you can call me Herb. I am a musician from Richmond, Virginia. I am currently pursuing a career as a music producer/audio engineer and as a music executive. I started out playing the drums first in my home church; there would always seem to be a direct connection with the people who took part in the musical experience.

As I grew as a drummer I started to play cymbals in a marching band in high school. This is where I fell in love with bass guitar in pep band in high school. It was just an instrument that nobody wanted to play, but I did. I went to a middle school sometime back where I would walk to a local music store and play around on the instruments until my mom came and picked me up. During the visit to this music store one day I picked up a bass guitar and automatically fell in love with the instrument.

Then came college life where I took a music theory class from there I started playing piano because that’s what we use in the class. Never thought I would end up playing this instrument. Now I’m here at AI looking to advance myself with audio engineering curriculum.
